Women's Soccer Returns Home and Picks up 5-1 Victory

STORM LAKE, Iowa (Sept. 24, 2026) -  The Buena Vista women's soccer team scored a pair of late first half goals only a minute apart to break a 1-1 tie, and the Beavers never looked back by adding two more second half goals en route to a  5-1 non-conference victory at home over Faith Baptist Bible College on Thursday night.

The match was moved from Ankeny to Storm Lake due to unplayable field conditions for the Eagles, but the two teams still had to play through rainy and cooler conditions throughout the match.

Junior Siena Becker came off the bench and scored her first collegiate goal midway through the opening half to give the Beavers a 1-0 lead. The Eagles did respond a bit later on and tied things up at 1-1 before Lucy Elsener and  Megan Rowedder each scored about 90 seconds part in the final three minutes of the opening half to lead 3-1. Addison Baucom assisted the eventual game-winning goal by Elsener while Rowedder's was unassisted.
