MANKATO, Minn. (Apr. 13, 2026) - The Buena Vista men's track & field team continued its outdoor schedule on Monday at the Minnesota State Open hosted by Minnesota State-Mankato and finished with eight top-10 finishes overall.

Patrick Heffernan helped lead the way with his runner-up effort in the 5000-meter run in 16:04.82. Freshman Eli Roberts turned in a personal best mark in the high jump by clearing 1.73m (5-08) and placing eighth.

Freshmen Kaden Zweibahmer and Jackson Mulkins each added personal best times in the 100-meter prelims in what was a loaded field where all 36 finishers were separated by only 1.8 seconds. Senior Easton Hays was the team's top finisher in the prelims at 11.09 seconds and missed out on qualifying into the finals by 0.06 seconds.

The Beavers are right back in action later in the week when they head to Orange City, Iowa, to take part in the Northwestern College (IA) Open on Thursday and Friday. The meet was pushed up from its originally scheduled Friday and Saturday format due to unfavorable weather conditions throughout the day on Saturday.
