Junior Drew Camman was handed the ball for BVU and made his second career start in game two, allowing no hits and just one unearned run, while striking out a career-high four. The Beavers backed his performance up by chalking up 14 hits and 14 runs.
The two teams traded first inning runs, including an infield single off the bat of sophomore Cooper Sobeck in the bottom half that tied things up.
BVU then broke things open with an eight-run second inning that was highlighted by a three-run home run to right centerfield by sophomore Dylan Johnson that made it 9-1. Junior Reid Jacob started the scoring with a two-run single for his only hit of the game.
Kasel added another run to the board in the third when he blasted his first career home run well over the fence in left to make it 10-1. Kasel finished 3-for-3 in the game with the home run, two RBI and a career-high five runs scored.
The Beavers led 12-1 going to the sixth inning before the Auggies pushed across two runs in the sixth and one more in the seventh to keep the game alive. BVU, however, finished things off in the home half of the inning using three hit batters, including Sobeck who was plunked with the bases loaded to make it 13-4 before designated hitter Jack Schmaltz walked it off with a sacrifice fly to center.
Schmaltz was 2-for-4 in the game with a career-high three RBI and a run scored, Johnson went 2-for-3 with a walk, three RBI and two runs scored, Struck was 2-for-3 with a double and also scored twice.
