MEMPHIS, Tenn. (March 13, 2026) - The Buena Vista baseball team continued its three-game series against #22 Rhodes College on Friday morning, but after holding off the Lynx on Thursday, the Beavers were shutout in the middle game of the series, 10-0, in seven innings.
Rhodes (10-4) did all of its scoring in just two innings, scoring five runs in both the second and fourth innings. The first run of the game scored on an RBI single with the final two runs of the second coming across on a two-run single. In the fourth, the Lynx got a two-run double and a run-scoring single. The final two runs scored on an error and a double steal.
The two teams combined for only 12 hits with just two going for extra-bases and stranded 11 total runners. Defensively, the Beavers were plagued by five errors.

Jake Eddie had two of the team's four base knocks, going 2-for-3 overall.Â

Cooper Sobeck each had one hit.

Carson Brachtel made the start on the mound for BVU, allowing five runs, four hits and two walks over 1.2 innings. Freshman
Kalab Kuhl pitched the final 2.0 innings of relief and was nearly lights out, allowing just one hit and striking out three.
Buena Vista is now 3-8 overall and will look to win the series when the two teams take the field for the finale on Saturday starting at 10 a.m.
