DUBUQUE, Iowa (Feb. 7, 2026) - The Buena Vista women's indoor track and field team added to its list of high finishes this season as it took part in the Spartan Shootout on Saturday, hosted by the University of Dubuque.

Freshman Hailey Hearting had another stellar performance to help lead the way. She turned in a runner-up finish in the 60-meter hurdles in a time of 9.64 seconds. Sophomore Ava Mills also made the finals of the event and came in seventh overall.

Junior Megan Bakke gave the Beavers another runner-up by coming in second in the 3,000-meter run at 10:44.63.

In field events, junior Payton Schermerhorn placed third in the weight throw and Emma Wiebold in seventh. Schermerhorn (14.33m) was just off her season-best toss of 14.35m while Wiebold's mark was a new season-best. Mills was third in the long jump with a new personal best mark of 4.80m.

Buena Vista returns to action on Feb. 13-14 at the Darren Young Classic, hosted by Grinnell College.
