CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa (Oct. 24, 2026) - Freshman
Kenin Kapich scored his third goal of the year with under two minutes to play in regulation but it wasn't going to be enough on Saturday afternoon, as the Buena Vista men's soccer team would fall on the road at Coe College, 3-1.
Jonah Lasselle scored a pair of first half goals just over a minute a part and Coe led 2-0 only 13 minutes into the match. The Kohawks added a third goal midway through the half with Kapich's goal being the only score by either side in the second half.
Kapich now has eight points on the year and moves into the team lead surpassing
Brayden Schwinck (7). His three goals put him in a five-way tie for the lead.
Junior
Alexis Sanabia went the distance in-goal for the Beavers and had nine saves.
Buena Vista is now 3-8-5 on the year (0-5-1 A-R-C) and will wrap up its season on Tuesday, Oct. 27, at home against Nebraska Wesleyan (5-8-1, 2-4 A-R-C). Kickoff is set for 7:30 p.m.
