STORM LAKE,  Iowa (Oct.  17, 2026) -  The Buena Vista men's soccer team hosted Loras College on a chilly and breezy night inside of J. Leslie Rollins Stadium on Saturday night, and despite getting the second career goal from freshman Kenin Kapich, the Beavers dropped a tough 8-1 match to the Duhawks.

Loras broke the scoreless tie nearly 14 minutes into play and went on to then score three more times in the opening half, including a pair of goals one minute apart. The Duhawks held a 21-4 edge in total shots on the night and added four more second half goals.

Kapich drilled a shot from nearly 30 yards out with his left foot that found the back left corner of the net late in the 66'  to get BVU on the board and make it  a 6-1 score. He finished the night with two of the team's four shots overall and both coming on-goal.

Christian Pogue made the start in-goal for the Beavers and played 81 minutes and allowed seven goals while making five saves.

Buena Vista is now 3-9-3 overall (0-4 A-R-C) and will host Central College on Wednesday, Oct. 21, at 7:30 p.m.
