YANKTON, S.D. (Sept. 5, 2025) - The Buena Vista men's cross country team competed for the first time this fall on Friday night at the 14th annual Augustana College Twilight Meet.

Junior Patrick Heffernan was the team's top finisher and was among a crow of runners separated by only seconds. He came in 126th overall but only 10 seconds separated him from a spot in the top-100.

Senior Hadyn Piskorski followed about 20 seconds later with a new personal best time by nearly 40 seconds at 21:09.29. Freshman Leighton Sippel made his collegiate debut and was third for the team at 21:38 with fellow freshman Corbin Webster at 21:57.

A total of 25 teams competed in the event with nearly 400 total runners. The Beavers came in 21st overall.

Buena Vista will now have two weeks before it returns to action at the St. Olaf College Invite on Saturday, Sept. 20, at 11 a.m.
