WAVERLY, Iowa (Sept. 20, 2025) - The Buena Vista men's tennis doubles tandem of Nick Hiney and Ryan Smith would close out the American Rivers Conference Men's Tennis Individual Tournament on Saturday with a third-place finish in the Flight C doubles bracket.

In their semifinal match to begin the final day, the duo came up just short in a 6-4 setback against Dubuque's Jake Westberry and Andrew Bollis. Despite the tough loss, the two players bounced back to win by the same score in the third-place match over Nebraska Wesleyan's Rylan Wobken and Ian Armbrust.

Buena Vista will play alumni matches as part of Homecoming on Saturday, Sept. 27, at a time yet to be determined which will wrap up the fall season. The next scheduled official match for the team will be Saturday, Feb. 14 versus Bethany Lutheran which will be played in Owatonna, Minn.
