Emmetsburg, Iowa - Five BVU Esports players competed in the first ever Showdown at the Wild Rose Casino this past Saturday, August 9th. The Beavers Assistant Director of Esports
Albert Rassavong partnered with Emmetsburg Esports program and the Wild Rose to host the event. There were 35 Smash Brothers players and eight total Mario Kart players.
The Beavers had five Smash players compete.
Gregory Stueven led the way finishing in a tie for 7th with a 3-2 record.
Matthew Forristal and
Nick Becker finished in a tie for 9th with 3-2 records while
Joseph Groetken and
Ethan Tompkins finished tied for 17th with a 1-2 record.
Tompkins and Groetken finished 1st and 2nd in the Mario Kart tournament.
