Big Fourth Quarters send Central Methodist STUNT to a Pair of Wins over BVU

STORM LAKE, Iowa (Mar. 21, 2025) - The Buena Vista University STUNT team played its home opener on Friday evening by hosting Central Methodist University (Mo.) for a pair of games inside of Siebens Fieldhouse. The Eagles, however, were aided by a big fourth quarters in each game to defeat the Beavers, 10-2 and 10-1, respectively.

BVU came out in the opening game by earning the point in round one before the Eagles came back and ended the quarter by winning the point in round two. The two teams again traded points in the two rounds of the second quarter to head into halftime tied at 2-2. The Eagles came out in the second half and claimed the point in both rounds of the third quarter to build the 4-2 advantage and then swept all six points over the two rounds of the fourth to take the win.

In between games, the Beavers took a moment to honor the team's lone senior this season, Hannah Schiltz. The Everly, Iowa, native and Spencer High School graduate was joined by several family members and was presented with gifts from the program.

In the nightcap, the Beavers again came out and earned the first point after round one before the Eagles tied things up following round two. From there, Central Methodist claimed the two points during the second quarter and then in round one of the third quarter. Both teams forfeited the second round to give the Eagles a 4-1 leading heading to the fourth. Central Methodist (5-5) again claimed all three points in both rounds of the Team Routine during the fourth quarter.

Buena Vista is now 3-7 on the year. The Eagles and Beavers will play each other one final time on Saturday, Mar. 22, at 10 a.m. Central Methodist and St. Mary's College (Ind.) will then face-off at 11 a.m. followed by Buena Vista and St. Mary's (Ind.) at 12 p.m.
