INDIANOLA, Iowa (Feb. 22, 2025) - The Buena Vista University women's wrestling team wrapped up its season on Saturday at the 2025 National Collegiate Women's Wrestling Region VII Tournament and had a pair of individuals win matches on the day as BVU finished eighth overall among the 10-team field.
Freshman
Harley Tobin (110) earned a bye in the opening round and then bounced back after a loss in the quarterfinals by rolling to a pin in 3:39 for her second fall of the year. Her first collegiate season, however, would come to an end in the next round when she lost 10-0 which wrapped up her campaign at 6-5 overall.
Sophomore
Magalie Mogiga (207) began her day with a thrilling 3-2 victory over Selena Snell from Central College who had defeated Mogiga by fall earlier in the year at the A-R-C Invitational. After losing by fall in the quarterfinals, Mogiga bounced back with a commanding 10-0 technical fall but then lost by the same margin in the third round of consolations to end her season at 9-12 overall.
Freshman
Evelyn Kramer (117) and sophomore
Shania Graybill (138) also competed for the Beavers and finished the day at 0-2 overall.
Buena Vista totaled 5.5 team points and finished in front of both Central College and Cornell College, respectively. Augsburg College (24 points) was ahead of BVU in seventh while the University of Iowa won the team title with 192 points. Wartburg College was runner-up at 128 points.
