5-Person Group Stunt Wins Title at A-R-C Cheer & Dance Championships

STORM LAKE, Iowa (Feb. 16, 2025) - Buena Vista University was the host site for the 2025 American Rivers Conference Cheer & Dance Championships on Sunday afternoon inside of Siebens Fieldhouse, and the BVU 5-Person Group Stunt brought home the title in the four-team division with a score of 34.27 points.

The Beavers held off Wartburg College (Team 1) which finished with 32.52 points while the University of Dubuque took third at 32.17. It marks the program's first such title at the championships.

The competitive cheer division of the championships consisted of three categories: 5-Person Group Stunt, 2.5 Minute and Gameday. The overall team champion in the cheer division was decided by the winning score of the 2.5 Minute routine; with less than the required minimum number of teams competing (five), the competitive cheerleading event was held as an invitational again this year. The University of Dubuque scored 63.77 points in its 2.5 Minute routine to claim the competitive cheer title. Wartburg came in second with 55.22 points.
