WAVERLY, Iowa (Nov. 15, 2025) - The Buena Vista men's cross country team concluded its 2025 season on Saturday afternoon at the NCAA DIII Midwest Regional Championships hosted by Wartburg College and finished in 19th place overall among the 32-team field.

Junior Patrick Heffernan came away with a 77th overall finish in a time of 26:46.0 as senior Hadyn Piskorski followed in 27:38.9 and placed 122nd. Only one minute separated the team's next four runners to come across the line.

Nearly 240 total runners took part in the race which was won by Cornell College's Isaac Van Westrienen who edged Wartburg College's Isaiah Hammerand by eight seconds.

The top-ranked Knights, however, did claim the overall team crown in convincing fashion with 30 points. Second-ranked University of Chicago was next at 87 points.
