MOUNT VERNON, Iowa (Jan. 18, 2025) - The Buena Vista University women's wrestling had a pair of individual place-winners on Saturday during the annual Cliff Keen/Mike Duroe Invitaitonal, hosted by Cornell College, including freshman Evelyn Kramer who led the way with her third place finish.

Kramer began the day with a hard fought 10-6 victory in the quarterfinal round and then bounced back from a loss in the semifinals to secure an 11-6 triumph and a fall in 0:49 to complete her day. Her 3-1 showing for the day gives her a team-leading seven wins on the year (7-7). 

Sophomore Magalie Mogiga placed sixth and scored 8.5 team points on the day. She rolled to an 11-0 technical fall to begin the day and after losing by fall in the semifinals would go on to drop a pair of narrow decisions by 6-2 and 7-6 margins, respectively. Mogiga is second on the team with four wins this season.

Daynia Werner won by fall in 1:36 in the first round of consolations but did not go onto place for the Beavers.

Buena Vista continues the schedule by taking part in the A-R-C Individual Tournament on Jan. 25 in Dubuque, Iowa.
