STORM LAKE, Iowa (Sept. 28. 2024) - The Buena Vista University men's soccer team returned home on Saturday night to begin American Rivers Conference play by hosting Loras College, but the Beavers came up  bit short as the Duhawks pulled away in the second half for a 5-0 victory.

Loras held a 15-2 advantage in total shots over the first 45 minutes, but the Beaver defense kept the team in the contest by trailing just 1-0 at the break. Loras, despite taking just seven total shots in the second half, made the most of those attempts by scoring four times.

BVU had five shots on the night - all by different players - while Cody Fuller went the distance in goal and made nine saves.

Dani Galiana Torres and Cole Bridson each scored a goal and added an assist to help pace Loras (4-3-1, 1-0 A-R-C) as five different players scored the goals for the Duhawks. 

Buena Vista is now 7-3 overall (0-1 A-R-C) and will step out of A-R-C play briefly on Thursday, Oct. 3, to host Faith Baptist Bible College at 6:30 p.m.
