Mike Wilson '92 Selected for BVU Athletics Hall of Fame

STORM LAKE, Iowa (Sept. 20, 2024) - The Buena Vista University Athletics Hall of Fame will have six new inductees enshrined during a formal banquet held on Friday, Sept. 27, and among the group will be multi-sport athlete Mike Wilson '92.

Wilson primarily competed in football and track & field for the Beavers but also spent time on the basketball court. On the gridiron, Wilson was a letterwinner all four seasons and finished his career ranked second on the program’s all-time total offensive charts while also holding seven program records. He generated nearly 6,000 yards of total offense as a quarterback which still ranks in the top-five.

Wilson also excelled in track & field where he competed for three seasons and won a pair of conference individual titles and became an All-American in the javelin. He still remains the school record holder in the javelin at 212’ 4” which he set his senior season. Wilson did play two seasons of basketball for the Beavers and made the most of it as he was named the team’s Most Valuable Player as a senior.

Mike is currently the principal at Mount Pleasant High School in Mount Pleasant, Iowa. He resides there with his wife, Kate, and they have three children: Brock, Brevin and Bryce.
