Monmouth got on the board late in the 56th minute and continued to put pressure on the Beaver defense down the stretch, including in the final seconds where senior Trisha Westphal made another diving stop as time was expiring to preserve the win.
Westphal was outstanding in front of the net for the Beavers by going the distance and posting 15 saves and making several diving stops in front of the net and in the middle of the box.
Lippert turned in a team-high four shots (all on-goal) as Chambers and freshman Emma Haley followed with two apiece.
Monmouth turned in 19 shots overall while BVU had 10.
The Beavers improve to 1-0-1 on the year and will remain at home to host North Central University (MN) on Wednesday, Sept. 4 at 5 p.m.
