Miller and Friedrichsen Qualify to NCAA Outdoor Track & Field Championships

STORM LAKE, Iowa (May 17, 2024) - The Buena Vista University outdoor track & field teams have a pair of individuals who have qualified into this year's NCAA Outdoor Track & Field Championships to be held at Myrtle Beach, S.C., on May 23-25.

Senior Kyle Miller advances for the second straight season in the men's 800-meter run while fellow senior Anna Friedrichsen will compete in the women's hammer throw.

Miller is ranked 21st nationally and posted his best qualifying time of 1:50.26 on Wednesday, May 15, at the Augustana College Twilight Meet. He is coming off a ninth place overall finish at last year's championships when he ran a time of 1:49.72. This year's championships will be made up of another crammed field as well with less than two seconds separating the fastest qualifying time to the 22nd and final time.

Miller is scheduled to run his preliminary race on Friday, May 24 at 6:15 p.m. EST. The finals of the race is set for Saturday, May 25 at 6 p.m. EST.
