Men's Indoor Track & Field Competes during NJCAA Regional Meet

STORM LAKE, Iowa (Feb. 17, 2024) - The Buena Vista men's indoor track & field team had a handful of individuals compete as non-scoring members during the National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) Regional IX Meet, hosted by BVU on Feb. 16-17.

As non-scoring members, the Beavers could not qualify past the prelims of any event and were not including in any team points from any event.

John Jeannise and Ashton Bates each ran strong in the 60-meter dash, posting times of 7.02 and 7.07 seconds, respectively. Jeannise also ran a 23.04 on Saturday in the 200-meter dash which was 16th and less than a second from the top-4. Kyle Miller took part in the 400-meter dash and turned in a time of 50.81 seconds which placed ninth and was just over a second away from the school record of 49.34 set in 1999.

David Crow turned in a season-best toss in the shot put at 12.78 meters while Zackary Huffman added a season-best in the event. Crow also added a season-best mark in the weight throw.

Buena Vista now gears up for the American Rivers Conference Indoor Championships on Feb. 23-24 at the University of Dubuque. Action is set to begin at 10 a.m. on Friday with the multi-events. A full schedule will be posted to www.bvuathletics.com.
