DECORAH, Iowa (Nov. 9, 2024) - Buena Vista Aurora Preston made her collegiate wrestling debut on Saturday at the Luther Open and would place eighth for the Beavers.
Preston picked up her first collegiate victory with a 6-4 decision in the second round of the consolation bracket. Fellow freshman
Kayeleigh Bowden did not place but was victorious in her first career match as she picked up the team's first pin of the year in 2:16.
Nearly 20 different schools from NCAA DIII and JUCO made up the field for the annual event.
Buena Vista is back in action on Wednesday, Nov. 13, when the team hosts Dakota Wesleyan at 6 p.m. prior to the men's dual against Northwestern College (IA).
