Dutch Clips Women's Soccer 4-0

STORM LAKE, Iowa (Oct. 9, 2024) - The Buena Vista University women's soccer team returned home on Wednesday evening to host Central College, but despite a stingy defensive effort, the Beavers fell to the Dutch, 4-0.

Although Central held a 22-0 advantage in shots during the first half, it remained a 0-0 contest until the Dutch finally broke through with 10 minutes remaining in the opening period before doubling the total five minutes later to build a 2-0 halftime lead.

BVU held tough on the defensive end most of the contest, but just couldn't put much pressure on the Central defense. The Dutch added two more goals just four minutes apart within the first 10 minutes of the second half for the final tallies of the contest. Abby Frey helped lead the way for the visitors with an assist on the first goal before scoring on the next two. Central (8-5, 1-2 A-R-C) finished the match with 36 total shots.
