WAVERLY, Iowa (Oct. 5, 2024) - The Buena Vista University men's cross country team had a pair of individuals reach the finish line in the top-25 of the Dan Huston Invite on Saturday morning, hosted by Wartburg College, to help the Beavers take fifth place overall among the 11-team field.
Kaden Sadler crossed first for the Beavers in a time of 25:50.8 that put him 16th overall.
Kyle Miller was right behind at 25:57.4 and took 21st. Junior
Carter Braun ran his personal best time of 28:40.2 and
Brayden Mahlum shaved nearly a full minute off his only other career 8k race. Haydn Piskorski and Zach Thompon rounded out the line-up.
Buena Vista totaled 154 points overall and was 40 points back of fourth. The host Knights tallied only 15 points and run away with the team race by nearly 30 points over runner-up Nebraska Wesleyan.
The Beavers will now prepare for the Platte River Rumble on Saturday, Oct. 18, at Ashland, Neb.
