WAVERLY, Iowa (Jan. 20, 2024) - The Buena Vista women's wrestling team took part in the first annual A-R-C Tournament on Saturday at Wartburg College, and the Beavers came away with a pair of top-3 individual finishers.

Freshman Magalie Mogiga was a runner-up for BVU at 191 pounds. She began her day with a fall in 2:23 over the Knights' Emerson Smith. Mogiga would be pinned by champion Gwendalyn Canney of Central College in her final outing.

Fellow freshman Shania Graybill placed third after picking up falls in both her first and third matches of the day, including the second coming in only 28 seconds.

Freshman Elizabeth Tapia-Bañuelos dropped her first two matches by technical fall but finished the day strong by winning by a 10-0 technical fall to place fourth.

Junior Daisy Olais finished seventh at 116 while Rylee Rodish was fifth at 143 and Tymberlee Bentley fourth at 155.

Buena Vista is scheduled to step out of conference competition on Tuesday, Jan. 23, at Dakota Wesleyan at 7 p.m.
