ST. PAUL, Minn. (Sept. 7, 2023) - Buena Vista sophomore Kade Stover scored the team's first goal of the season late in regulation, but the University of Northwestern-St. Paul responded seconds later as the two team's ended the match in a hard fought 1-1 tie.

Stover took a pass from Caleb Swanson with just 1:58 left to play in regulation and knocked it through to give BVU a 1-0 advantage. It was Stover's second career goal. The lead was short-lived however, as the Eagles stunned the Beavers with a goal just 40 seconds later to even the match at 1-1.

Eduardo Garcia led Buena Vista with two shots on the night as the Beavers finished with only five. The Eagles, meanwhile, chalked up 22 overall, but struggled to get one past Beaver goalkeeper Isaiah Thomas, who registered nine saves before being charged with the hard-luck goal allowed at the end.

Buena Vista (0-2-1) will head right back to the state of Minnesota for the third time this week when it plays at Martin Luther College on Saturday afternoon. The match against the Knights begins at 4:30 p.m.
