Box Score ST. PAUL, Minn. (Sept. 5, 2023) - Junior
Chloe Lippert scored her first two career goals and added an assist while fellow junior
Kaycie King added her first goal of the year to help lift the Buena Vista women's soccer team to a 3-1 non-conference road victory at North Central (Minn.) on Tuesday night.
King put BVU on the board first when she took a pass from Lippert and knocked it through in the lower middle half of the goal just over three minutes into the match.
That's how things would stand until 14 minutes into the second half half when Lippert placed a shot in the lower left for her first career goal, giving BVU a 2-0 cushion.
North Central cut the deficit in half midway through the second half before Lippert put the finishing touches on the win with under a minute to play, snapping the team's seven match unbeaten streak since it played to a 2-2 tie against Rochester Community and Technical College back on October 8, 2022. It is the team's first win since edging Faith Baptist 1-0 on September 27.
Lippert finished with five shots, including three on-goal, as did sophomore
Madyline Taylor.
Bailey Gibbons also chimed in with three shots-on-goal as the Beavers finished with 20 shots (14 on-goal) - both are the most since recording 25 shots (15 on-goal) at Martin Luther on Sept. 8, 2018.
Trisha Westphal went the distance in-goal for the Beavers and made three saves en route to her second career victory.
Buena Vista is now 1-2 overall this season and will return to action on Saturday, Sept. 9, at Martin Luther College starting at 2 p.m.
