The Wildcats led 10-3 in the first set before the Beavers settled in and came all the way back to take a 13-12 lead. SCU went on a run late to take a 23-18 lead but a kill from Skylar Cole sparked another comeback as BVU got within 23-22 after a kill from Brockney. The Wildcats faced set point after a serving error, but the Beavers would score two straight to tie things at 24-24 and later led 26-25 before the visitors rolled off three straight kills to win 28-26.
BVU led 10-8 midway through the second set before the Wildcats responded with a run to take an 18-13 lead. The Beavers were unable to get any closer than four down the stretch as SCU went on to win 25-19. The third set was back-and-forth most of the way with St. Catherine building its largest lead of the set at 14-10. BVU, however, would roll off five straight points to regain the lead and continued to stay in front at 20-17. The Wildcats used a run of their own to go back in front, 21-20. Despite trailing 23-21, the Beavers wouldn't go away as they tied things up at 23-23 but consecutive kills by Madison Fagan would send the Wildcats (9-4) onto the sweep.
Buena Vista is now 6-9 on the year and hosts Luther College on Oct. 6 at 6 p.m.
