Box Score RIPON, Wis. (Sept. 16, 2023) -
Madyline Taylor scored her third goal of the year for Buena Vista on Saturday at Ripon College, but the Beavers came up just short on the road to the Red Hawks, 4-1.
Taylor finished with three shots, all of which were on-goal, with
Kaycie King also recording three shots. As a team, the Beavers finished with seven of their eight total shots coming on goal.
Kaley Kowal scored three goals to lead Ripon which finished with 17 shots total in the contest. She broke a scoreless match less than seven minutes into play and would score her second midway thru the half as the Red Hawks would go on to build a 3-0 halftime advantage. The Red Hawks added an early second-half goal to extend the cushion to 4-0 before Taylor's goal midway through which came on an assit from
Chloe Lippert.
Lippert and Taylor have combined for 18 of the team's 26 total points this season.
Trisha Westphal went the distance in-goal for BVU and tallied seven saves.
Buena Vista is now 2-4 overall and travels to Faith Baptist Bible College on Tuesday, Sept. 19, for a 4 p.m.
