STORM LAKE, Iowa (Sept. 1, 2023) - The Buena Vista men's soccer team hosted Bethany Lutheran College for this year's season opener, but it was the Vikings getting an early first half goal en route to a 3-0 victory over the Beavers.

Bethany Lutheran got on the board in the first seven minutes with a nice cross pass in front of the goal that was put in by Ben Klausen. The Vikings finished with six first-half shot attempts and nine in the second. Buena Vista finished with one shot in each period.

Connor Williams and Jacob Adams recorded the shot attempts for BVU with Adams' coming on-goal. The Beavers got solid efforts from both Cody Fuller and Isaiah Thomas guarding the net. Fuller got the start and went the first half before giving way to Thomas in the second. The duo combined for three saves.

Buena Vista will look to bounce back when it steps back out onto the field Sunday afternoon, Sept. 3, for a non-conference road match at Hamline University which kicks-off at 12 p.m.
