STORM LAKE, Iowa (Oct. 7, 2023) - The Buena Vista women's soccer team hosted regionally-ranked Simpson College (10-1-1, 3-0 A-R-C) on Saturday afternoon and put up a strong defensive battle, but the Storm were just too tough to handle in the end as they picked up a 4-0 victory.

Simpson came out fast and broke a scoreless match with a Cassie Nash goal just over six minutes into the contest. Five minutes later it was Nash again as the Storm went up 2-0 and maintained that same margin going into the half.

After recording 12 shots in the opening half, the Storm added 13 more in the second, including goals during both the 71st and 72nd minute for the final scores.

Buena Vista was held without a shot attempt in the contest while Simpson chalked up 15 of their 25 shots on-goal.

Trisha Westphal went the distance in-goal for BVU and did register 10 saves in the process. Nash had nine total shots to lead Simpson, including a team-high seven on-goal.

Buena Vista is now 3-8 overall (0-4 A-R-C) and hosts Coe College on Tuesday, Oct. 10, in a Cancer Awareness Match starting at 5 p.m. inside of J. Leslie Rollins Stadium.
