PELLA, Iowa (Oct. 4, 2023) - The Buena Vista women's soccer team played at Central College on Wednesday afternoon looking for its first American Rivers Conference victory of the year, but the Dutch started fast with a pair of goals over the first five minutes en route to a 5-0 victory over the Beavers at the A.H. Kuyper Soccer Complex.
The Dutch, which has 22 first half shots, got on the board late in the fourth minute of play before turning right around to double the advantage one minute later. They later added two more goals over a six-minutes span midway through the period that put them up 4-0 at the break.
BVU was held without a single shot attempt over the final half of play while the Dutch added their final goal of the contest six minutes into the second half.
Grace Coates scored twice for Central (6-2-4, 1-1-1 A-R-C) and finished with a match-high seven total shots. Kaitlyn Isom scored once on her three shot attempts to go along with a pair of assists.
Chloe Lippert registered BVU's only shot-on-goal in the match while
Kaycie King turned in the other shot attempt.
Trisha Westphal went the distance in-goal for the Beavers and did turn in 12 saves.
Buena Vista is now 3-7 on the year (0-3 A-R-C) and will host regionally-ranked Simpson College on Saturday inside of J. Leslie Rollins Stadium at 1 p.m.
