STORM LAKE, Iowa (Oct. 14, 2023) - The Buena Vista women's soccer team hosted Coe College on Tuesday evening for its Cancer Awareness Match. The two teams were knotted 0-0 at the half, but the Kohawks went on to score twice midway through the second to outlast the Beavers in a hard fought contest, 2-0.
It turned out to be a defensive battle throughout most of the first half with only a combined five shots from the two sides with only two on-goal.
Coe would go on to register 11 shots over the final half of play, and broke a scoreless match when Ella Weber found the back of the net during the 63rd minute. Weber wasn't done, as she doubled the advantage for the Kohawks 11 minutes later. She finished the match with nine total shots, including four on-goal.
