LINCOLN, Neb. (Jan. 21, 2023) Buena Vista senior Becca Simpson was victorious in the weight throw while freshman Larissa Sager won the triple jump to help highlight the day for the Beavers during the Praire Wolf Invite held on Friday on the campus of Neb. Wesleyan.

Simpson recorded a season-best heave of 55-1.5 (6.80m) to win the event by just over one foot. She also finished second in the shot put by seven inches with a toss of 43-4.25 (13.21m). Sager, meanwhile, turned in a leap of 32-9.5 (9.9m) to win by nearly two feet.

Anna Friedrichsen placed eighth in the shot put and fifth in the weight throw. Jessica Sump brought home a fifth-place finish in the long jump while Katara Jondle was sixth in the 60m dash.

BVU will get to compete on its own surface on Jan. 27-28 as it hosts the Dennis Young Classic.
