RIVER FALLS, Wis. (Sept. 5, 2022) - Junior
Marcos Rosales scored his first goal in a Buena Vista uniform, but it wasn't near enough for the BVU men's soccer team on Monday afternoon as it was dealt a 5-1 loss against Wisconsin Lutheran.
The Warriors jumped out to an early 2-0 lead midway through the first half before Rosales cut the deficit in half during he 32nd minute. Wisconsin Lutheran, which held a 14-4 advantage in overall shots, added to its lead early in the second half before adding two late goals for the final score.
Rosales and
Eduardo Garcia each had two shots with Rosales accounting for both of the team's shots-on-goal. Six of the Warriors shots came on-goal.
Isaiah Thomas got the start in-goal and played the first 68 minutes before being issued a red card.Â
Cody Fuller the came on and allowed one goal and had one save in 22 minutes.
Buena Vista is now 0-2-1 on the year and is off until Saturday afternoon when it hosts North Central University (Minn.) for its home opener. Kick-off is set for 3:30 p.m. inside of J. Leslie Rollins Stadium.Â
