STORM LAKE, Iowa (Sept. 24, 2022) - The Buena Vista women's soccer team hosted No. 6 Wartburg College on Saturday in what was the American Rivers Conference opener for both teams, and it was the Knights scoring five times in the first half en route to an 8-0 victory.

BVU battled right with the Knights throughout the contest, but Wartburg had just too much firepower on the offensive end. The visitors go onto the scoreboard during the seventh minute and then scored a pair of goals over a three-minute span to take a 3-0 lead. The Knights capped the first half with a pair of goals over the final 15 minutes.

Wartburg had 15 shots in the first half and added 10 in the second. Of those 25 total shots, 15 came on goal. The Beavers were held without a shot attempt.

The win moves the Knights to 9-0 (1-0 A-R-C) while BVU drops to 3-5 (0-1 A-R-C). The Beavers conclude their six-game homestand on Tuesday evening when they host Faith Baptist Bible College in a on-conference match beginning at 6:30 p.m. It will be Senior Night for BVU with the recognition taking place at the start of halftime.
