STORM LAKE, Iowa (Sept. 13, 2022) - The Buena Vista men's soccer team continued its home schedule on Tuesday evening inside of J. Leslie Rollins Stadium by hosting Martin Luther College. It was a defesive battle throughout with both teams scoring first half goals before ending in a 1-1 tie.
The Knights jumped out in front 1-0 just 21 seconds into the match, and that's how things stood until BVU junior
Marcos Rosales escaped the defenders and knocked a pass from
Sam Bardwell past the keeper to even things at 1-1 wih seven minutes to play before the half.
Both teams finished with five shots in the first half, but despite the Knights holding an 8-2 margin over the final 45 minutes, the Beaver defensive held strong and limited Martin Luther to only two shots-on-goal in the half.
Jacob Adams,
Jovani Gomez and
Braedan Evans each had two shots to pace BVU offensively with both of Adams' coming on-goal.
Isaiah Thomas was back in the line-up and posted five saves while going the distance.
Buena Vista is now 0-3-2 overall while the Knights are 1-2-1. The Beavers will play their third straight match on the home turf this Saturday afternoon against Illinois College. The match is set to begin at 12:30 p.m.
