ABOUT BVU

The Beavers will hit the road after going 1-2 last weekend at home vs Loras College. BVU swept its only A-R-C road series to this point (at Central).

BVU will look to continue recent success within their starting rotation. Freshman Morgan Smith has enjoyed success in his first season. He followed up a 14-strikeout performance against Central with another dominant start vs Loras. He held Loras batters to 1 run over 9 innings while striking out 11. On the season, Smith has won 3 games (4th in A-R-C) compiling a 3.00 ERA (6th in A-R-C) with 47 strikeouts (2nd in A-R-C) across 33.0 innings (3rd in A-R-C). Dalton Glenn followed up his award-winning perfect game performance with another solid start. The junior right hander pitched 7 strong innings against Loras, allowing 3 runs and striking out 4. On the season, Glenn has won 2 games (15th in A-R-C) with a 4.31 ERA (16th in A-R-C) while striking out 35 batters (6th in A-R-C) across 31.1 innings (8th in A-R-C).

The Beavers lineup ranks among the best in the A-R-C this season as well. As a unit, they currently rank second with 199 runs scored and rank first with the highest OB% and SLG%. Joel Garcia has continued to shine. In the Loras finale, the freshman infielder recorded 3 hits while scoring and driving in a run. On the season, Garcia is now batting .400 (7th in A-R-C) with 2 homeruns (14th in A-R-C) and 31 RBIs (2nd in A-R-C).

Twins have been a major factor in the Beavers offensive success with both the Mathewson and Taylor brothers finding success.

Caden Mathewson will look to build off his performance in the Loras finale where he recorded 3 hits while scoring twice and driving in 2. On the season, Caden has hit .286 with 17 RBIs (24th in the A-R-C) while Jordan Mathewson has hit 0.338 (24th in A-R-C) with 2 homeruns (18th in A-R-C) and 13 RBIs.

Drew Taylor will look to build off a successful weekend where he recorded a multi-RBI performance in both games of Saturday's double header vs Loras. On the season, Drew has hit .262 with a homerun while driving in 15 (25th in A-R-C). Evan Taylor has ranked among the A-R-C leaders this season, hitting .395 (8th in A-R-C) with 3 homeruns (6th in A-R-C) while driving in 21 (9th in A-R-C).

ON DECK: On April 12th, the Beavers will head to Lincoln, Nebraska for a 3 p.m. matchup vs Nebraska Wesleyan University.
