STORM LAKE, Iowa (March 21, 2022) - Eric Pacheco, who teammates and coaches at Buena Vista University nicknamed Paycheck, has put together quite the resume at BVU. Over the last couple of years, Pacheco has compiled several stats and records for the Beavers. Currently Pacheco holds the program records for total catches, receiving touchdowns, and receiving yards; surpassing BVU Hall of Famer Jesse Schmidt. Pacheco was also voted All-Conference from 2018-2021 as well as Second Team All-American by D3Football.com for in 2021.

Pacheco was one of the seven BVU seniors to return back to school after COVID ruined the 2020 season. After football concluded, Pacheco was invited to the College Football Gridiron Showcase, a college football all-star event for small college players from FCS, Division II, III, NAIA and select players from around the world, designed to get these players in front of NFL teams and other professional leagues.  During the showcase, Pacheco performed as he usually does and caught the attention of some scouts.

Most recently, Pacheco has been training in Minnesota with Bill Welle, who has trained some familiar names in the NFL such as Larry Fitzgerald and Travis Kelce. For the past two months, Pacheco has been training for the drills that he will be performing in front of scouts on March 22nd. These include agility, jumping, sprinting and football skills of course.

Pacheco commented on the opportunity, "When I got there, I quickly realized that everybody was there for a reason as there was no shortage of talent," he says.

The experience has been nothing but eye opening for Pacheco who is originally from a small Catholic School in Kearney Nebraska. "It was an amazing experience because everybody I was training with had the same goals and aspirations as myself," he adds. "To perform to the best of your abilities on your pro day in hopes to get an opportunity in a rookie minicamp."

On March 22nd, Eric would be 1/3 pass catchers at the Iowa State Pro Day, so he is looking to get a lot of repetition and test well in events.

We wish the BVU Alum nothing but the best on his big day.
