Taylor Krager added 11 points to help lead the Buena Vista women's basketball team against No. 5 Simpson on Wednesday night, but the Beavers couldn't overcome 22 turnovers as the Storm rolled to an 89-55 victory inside of Siebens Fieldhouse.
McCall matched her career-high in points and set a new career-high in rebounds en route to her fifth double-double of the year and her third in the last four games. She finished 8-of-12 from the field and made 3-of-4 at the free-throw line. Krager was just 4-of-15 from the field, but made two of the team's three long range buckets in the contest.Â

Emily Newton dished out four assists. The Beavers shot just 31.5 percent from the field overall and were held to just 3-of-22 from long range and 6-of-14 at the free-throw line.
The Storm were able to take advantage of the 22 BVU miscues by turning them into 31 points. Kia Rasmussen nailed a three-pointer just before the buzzer to end the first quarter and give Simpson a 22-12 lead. BVU had eight turnovers in the second quarter alone that led to 14 points as Simpson outscored the Beavers 29-13 in the period to push the lead to 51-25 at the break.
Simpson made just two more field goals in the second half than the Beavers but were 4-of-11 from distance compared to just 1-of-11 for the Beavers.
Cassie Nash led a balanced scoring effort by the Storm with a game-high 27 points on 12-of-16 shooting while Jenna Taylor followed with 19 points and 12 rebounds. Simpson finished the game shooting better than 42 percent overall from the field and 9-of-24 from downtown as the Storm (20-1, 12-0 A-R-C) extended their win streak to 17 games.
Buena Vista falls to 7-of-13 overall (5-9 A-R-C) and remain fifth in the league standings by percentage points over both Coe and Luther. The Beavers will host No. 19 Wartburg on Saturday afternoon for the final home game of the year. Tip-off inside of Siebens Fieldhouse is set for 2:00 p.m.
