STORM LAKE, Iowa (February 12, 2022) - Freshmen Mallory McCall and Taylor Krager each scored 13 points for the Buena Vista women's basketball team on Saturday afternoon against No. 19 Wartburg but it was the Knights' strong outside shooting that helped lift them to a convincing 98-44 victory inside of Siebens Fieldhouse.

McCall just missed out on a third straight double-double as she added nine rebounds to her stat line and made the team's only three-point bucket of the contest.

Wartburg shot 9-of-12 from beyond the arc in the first half, while BVU was just 5-of-25 from the field overall, and the Knights built a 51-16 lead at the half.  BVU made 8-of-13 from the field in the third quarter but Wartburg kept on rolling by sinking 10-of-17 of its field goal attempts.

BVU finished the game shooting just under 31 percent from the field while the Knights were 59 percent, including 13-of-25 from downtown.

Sarah Faber led Wartburg (18-4, 11-3 A-R-C) with 12 points and five assists as 13 different players scored.  

Buena Vista (7-14, 5-10 A-R-C) will wrap up its regular season on Wednesday, February 16, at Central College.  Tip-off with the Dutch is scheduled for 5:30 p.m.  The Beavers are currently tied with Coe for the sixth and final conference tournament spot.  BVU knocked off the Dutch by 21 points on January 31.
