The Beavers host #5 Simpson on Wednesday, February 9th, before playing host to #19 Wartburg on Saturday, February 12, to close out their home schedule.

LAST WEEK: The Beavers played three games in a matter of a week, winning the first against Central before having their three-game win streak snapped with back-to-back road losses at Dubuque and Coe, respectively. The Beavers are currently sitting in the 5th spot by percentage points with just three regular season games remaining. The team was held to under 35 percent shooting from the field overall in those two losses while also going just 5-of-33 from long range. Mallory McCall scored 18 points and hauled in 11 rebounds in the win over the Dutch on Monday while leading the way with 11 points during the loss at Dubuque before tying for the team-lead with 13 points against Coe on Saturday.
ABOUT SIMPSON –The fifth-ranked Storm are currently the only unbeaten team during conference play in the American Rivers Conference and take the floor riding an overall 13-game win streak. In their Wednesday win over Luther, senior Jenna Taylor scored 26 points to reach 1,500 career points. Taylor has again been among the best players in the league this season having been named the A-R-C Women's Basketball Performer of the Week four times. She leads the A-R-C in scoring (16.6ppg) and is second in both overall field goal percentage (58.0 percent) and three-point percentage (45.6 percent). She's third overall in three-point makes with 47 while her 134 baskets overall are tops among all conference players. Cameron Kincaid is ninth in the league in scoring and leads the way in free-throw shooting at better than 94 percent. The Storm are third, defensively, in rebounding and second in turnover margin and steals per game.
ABOUT WARTBURG– The Knights bounced back from their loss to Dubuque with two home wins this past week. Wartburg defeated both Luther and Nebraska Wesleyan in Waverly and sit second in the conference race behind a #5 Simpson team. The Knights travel to Pella to play Central on Wednesday before the team visits Siebens Fieldhouse on Saturday. The team takes the floor averaging over 75.0ppg overall and is third in the league averaging just under that mark during conference play. The team has been equally as strong on the defensive side, holding opponents to under 63 points per outing and south of 40 percent shooting from the field. Jaedon Murphy is currently ranked sixth in the A-R-C in scoring at 13.9ppg and is the only player for the Knights averaging double figures in scoring overall this season (15.9ppg). The Knights have such a balanced scoring attack with six players during in at least 7.0ppg for the year. Hannah Anderson is second on the team at 9.7ppg. Britney Young has dished out over 65 assists overall with Macy Harris sitting just shy of 60. As a team, Wartburg is shooting 40 percent from the field and 34 percent from downtown. Â
ABOUT BUENA VISTA: Although the Beavers have lost their last pair of games, they remain 5th in the conference by percentage points.  BVU has three players averaging over 10.0ppg, including Mallory McCall who has a pair of 18-point performances in her last five games while reaching double digits in four straight. She's also averaging 9.5 rebounds over the last four contests and is up to second on the team overall at 6.6rpg. Despite missing the final two games last week due to injury, Vanessa Hamlett is leading the team in scoring at 11.1 and in rebounding at 8.9. She's also among the top-10 of the A-R-C in rebounding this season. The team has struggled a bit with turnovers as of late, averaging over 20 per contest over the last three after averaging 16 over the previous two.Â
