CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa (February 4, 2022) - The Buena Vista women's basketball team went back on the road on Saturday looking to salvage the season split with Coe College but the Kohawks pulled away in the fourth quarter and hung on for a 62-53 victory.

Mallory McCall each turned in 13 points for the Beavers with McCall also hauling in 11 rebounds for her fourth double-double of the year.
BVU trailed 18-17 after the first quarter and was down by only four at the half (30-26). Coe led by as many as nine in the third quarter but the Beavers chipped away at that lead and cut it down to 43-38 heading to the fourth. BVU just couldn't put a run together in the final frame despite making seven field goals in the period. Anhalt brought the team within three after scoring the first points of the stanza but Coe went on to score six of the next eight points and the Beavers were unable to get any closer than five after that.
Ellie Wisner scored a game-high 28 points for Coe, including 11-of-12 at the free-throw line. The Kohawks finished the game shooting 38 percent from the field overall.
Buena Vista is now 7-12 overall (5-8 A-R-C) and will host #4 Simpson College on Wednesday, February 9, at 5:30 p.m.
