ST. PAUL, Minn. (Nov. 12, 2022) - McKenna Cone led the Buena Vista Women's basketball with an 11-point performance, but the Beavers couldn't overcome 24 turnovers as they fell to Hamline University on Saturday afternoon, 77-45.Â
The Pipers led 18-9 after one quarter before building a 41-19 lead at the half. BVU came out strong to start the second half and clawed back within 46-33 with over 3:00 left in the third quarter, but a three-point bucket from Hamline sparked a 14-4 surge to close the period and extend its lead to 60-37. BVU was unable to get any closer the rest of the way as the Beavers fall for the second straight day and dip to 1-2 overall.
BVU shot 35.7% from the field. It saw most of the offense come from the bench as it accounted for 32 of the team's 45 points.Â

The Pipers shot 39.1% from the field. They were aided by a defense that recorded 18 steals and 4 blocks. In addition to their defense, they found success from deep with 10 threes.
