Inside the Series - Saturday marks the 45th meeting all-time between the two programs. The Duhawks enter the match-up riding a four-game win streak which includes a 55-34 victory a year ago in Dubuque. BVU's last win in the series was a 34-24 home victory back in 2016. Saturday's contest will be the third straight game between the two sides played inside of the Rock Bowl. Loras holds a slight 23-21 margin in the all-time series.

LAST WEEK: The Beavers hosted the University of Dubuque for Homecoming and jumped out to an early 16-12 first quarter lead. From there, though, BVU was held scoreless while the Spartans used a strong 27-point third quarter to help lift them to the 46-16 American Rivers Conference victory. Mason Griffith had a big day on the ground for the Beavers, chalking up a career-best 122 yards on just 15 carries. Zach Herrera passed for BVU's two scores, completing a pair of screen passes to Michael Odom. On the day, Herrera completed 20-of-36 attempts for 164 yards and the two TD's. Dylan Laughlin led the way with six catches and 63 yards. Defensively, Jeremy Woodward had a team-high 11 tackles, including 2.5 sacks, and a pair of quarterback hurries. As a team, BVU held the Spartans to 141 yards on the ground, but was hurt through the air, as Dubuque passed for 450 yards and five touchdowns.
About Loras - The Duhawks look to bounce back following their first conferenc setback of the year last week, 25-0, at No. 23 Wartburg. The team began A-R-C play with a big upset of nationally-ranked Central, 38-35 before taking down Nebraska Wesleyan, 49-31, a week later. The team comes in ranked right in the middle of the pack through three league contests in both total offense and defense. It comes in averaging just over 260 yards per game through the air while adding another 157 on the ground. Ty Bausch sits 11th overall in rushing yards per outing and England is fourth in passing yards per game. Mason Morris leads the team by a wide margin with 48 total tackles. Josh Kieffer is next with 30 and is also tied for the team-lead with seven tackles for a loss. As a unit, the Duhawks had not allowed 100 yards rushing in any game until allowing 212 a week ago by the Knights.
About Buena Vista: The Beavers look to get back on track after being held scoreless for the final three quarters last week against Dubuque while squandering a 16-12 first quarter lead. During conference play, BVU is averaging 23.7ppg and allowing 36.3ppg. The team is ranked fourth in rushing offense at 158.7 and in kickoff returns, averaging just over 24.0 yards per return. The defense has struggled a bit more defending the pass, ranking ninth, allowing 352.0 yards through the air per contest. Mason Griffith had 122 yards rushing last week and moves to eighth in the league in rushing yards per game at 67.5. Eman Alaniz is the league-leader at 118.5ypg. The team will also look to play a strong special teams game and use the field position to its advantage.
