Inside the Series -Â Today marks the 83rd meeting between the two program's all-time. Wartburg holds the all-time series lead at 49-30-3. The Beavers picked up a thrilling 24-20 victory over the Knights in Storm Lake last season which snapped a 10-game losing streak in the series. The last time BVU took back-to-back meetings came back in 2008 & 2009. Today is the third straight game in the series played in Storm Lake.

LAST WEEK: The Beavers scored 21 points in both the second and fourth quarters on the road at Nebraska Wesleyan, and those two big quarters helped lead the team to a 42-25 victory over the Prairie Wolves to snap a season-long three-game losing skid. Quarterback Zach Herrera threw three touchdown passes to freshman wideout Jeremiah Powell while Dylan Pospichal and Michael Odom added touchdown runs. Senior RJ Rojas capped the scoring with a pick-six from 25-yards out late in regulation. BVU chalked up 494 yards of total offense and ran 84 offensive plays.Â
About Wartburg  - The Knights are coming off their bye week and will take the field with the opportunity to clinch at least a share of the American Rivers Conference regular season title with a win. The team has been one of the top defensive teams in all of Division III this season, allowing only 5.4 points per contest which ranks third in the country. It has been especially dominant against the run, allowing an average of only 30.7 yards per game which is the lowest in Division III. The Knights have many lopsided victories to their resume this year by also averaging over 41.0ppg. It's been a balanced attack with the team chalking up 242.0ypg through the air and another 212.0ypg on the ground. Hunter Clasen ranks 7th in DII by averaging 7.1 yards per carry on the year. He currently leads the A-R-C with 102.0ypg. Nile McLaughlin is sixth in the league in passing yards per contest (231.7ypg) and has six reeceivers with over 100 yards receiving on the year, including Drake George's 328 yards on 25 catches. Owen Graver helps anchor the defense with 50 tackles, 7.5 for a loss, to go along with three interceptions. Jordan Dowining has registered a team-leading eight sacks.
About Buena Vista: The Beavers return home for their home finale today, looking to keep momentum going from their 42-25 road win at Nebraska Wesleyan last Saturday. Jeremiah Powell hauled in a career-high three touchdown catches in the game as Zach Herrera passed for 279 yards - his highest total in conference play this season. Turnovers have plagued the team for most of the season, but it committed just two in the win over NWU. Mason Griffith finished one yard shy of his second straight 100-yard rushing game while the offense put up its second-highest rushing total of the year (215 yards). Dylan Laughlin has been one of the team's top receivers overall and ranks 12th in the A-R-C, averaging 4.1 receptions per game. Powell is averaging just under 50.0 yards per game but is ninth in the league with 18.0 yards per catch. Defensively, Jeremy Woodward leads the way with 6.1 tackles per game and has one of the team's 10 interceptions. The team comes in ranked sixth in the A-R-C in rushing defense (155.7ypg) and ninth in defending the pass (341.8).
