STORM LAKE, Iowa (Oct. 22, 2022) - The Buena Vista men's soccer team hosted league-leading Loras on Saturday afternoon in the home finale, and despite a strong defensive effort, the Beavers came up short in a 4-0 loss.
BVU hung toe-to-toe with the Duhawks throughout the first half, and it remained a scoreless contest until the Duhawks converted a corner kick into the game's first goal with 90 seconds left in the period. It remained a one-goal contest until Loras added a pair of goals midway through the second half for a 3-0 lead and added the final in the last three minutes.
The Duhawks held a 21-1 margin in total shots with 10 of those coming on-goal.
Kade Stover turned in BVU's lone shot of the contest in the second half.
Cody Fuller made the start and went the distance for the Beavers and turned in a stellar performance with six saves.
Buena Vista is now 0-14-2 overall (0-7 A-R-C) and will wrap up its season on Tuesday, October 25, at the University of Dubuque starting at 5:00 p.m.
