STORM LAKE, Iowa (September 17, 2021) - Coming off of back-to-back games of scoring a combined 116 points, the Buena Vista University football team will look to take that high-flying offense into Saturday's American Rivers Conference opener at Loras College (0-2).

LAST WEEK: The Beavers were able to overcome a season-high seven turnovers, including three on their first four posessions, with a strong 35-0 shutout in the second half at Northwestern-St. Paul en route to a 58-21 non-conference road victory over the Eagles.  Junior tailback Keaton Huebner rushed for 105 yards and a pair of touchdowns to go along with a receiving score.  Sophomore quarterback Brandon Kyles passed for two scores and rushed for one and senior wide out Eric Pacheco tallied 157 yards receiving on eight catches and one TD.  Defensively, BVU held the Eagles to -1 yards rushing and just 224 yards of total offense.

Inside the Series - The two teams go against each other for the 44th meeting all-time on Saturday with BVU looking to pull even in the series at 22-22 with a victory.  Loras has won three straight match-ups and four of the last five, including a 40-39 overtime victory inside the Rock Bowl back in 2019.  Four of the last five meetings have been decided by 10 points or less.  The winning team has scored at least 34 points in the last eight outings.
