STORM LAKE, Iowa (April 21, 2021) - The Buena Vista men's soccer team was looking to close out its home schedule on a high note on Wednesday night, but Central College played spoiler by taking a 2-1 victory in double overtime.

Senior Troy Finnegan found the back of the net for BVU just 29 seconds into the match for his first goal of the year and that would be how things stood until the Dutch tied things up during the 79th minute.

Both teams were tough on the defensive end, combining for just 22 total shots, but the Dutch held BVU without an attempt in extra time before they knocked home the game-winner 2:30 into the second OT period for their 15th straight win over the Beavers.

Isaiah Thomas went the distance in-goal for the Beavers, and came up with a handful of stellar saves.  He finished the night with six overall.

Buena Vista drops to 0-7 overall (0-7 A-R-C) and will close out the season on the road this Saturday night for a 7:30 p.m. start at Coe College.
