CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa (April24, 2021) - For the second time this week, the Buena Vista men's soccer team suffered a heartbreaking loss as it fell on the road at Coe College in doiuble overtime on Saturday night, 3-2.
BVU got on the board first on a goal from Braden Evans just over four minutes into the match. It's his second score of the year. The lead then doubled at the 32-minute mark on a goal from
Zachary Tretler off a feed from
Noah Becker. It was also Tretler's second goal of the spring.
That's how things stood until early in the second half when the Kohawks began the comeback. They would get goals at the 54 and 76-minute marks to force overtime and then would win the game with three minutes left in the second OT period.
Coe held an 18-8 advantage in total shots. Tretler led BVU with three shots, including two on goal.Â
Isaiah Thomas got the start in-goal and registered four saves.Â
Jarrod Daniel came on late in regulation and played the final 29 minutes.
Buena Vista wraps up its season at 0-8 overall (0-8 A-R-C).
