Cedar Rapids, Iowa (March 9, 2021) - The Buena Vista women's basketball team will take the court as it is set to take on Coe College in Cedar Rapids on Tuesday night.? This will be the first round matchup in the A-R-C Tournament.

The Beavers lost in Dubuque against Loras 76-64 on February 27th.?BVU was outscored by the Duhawks by seven points in the second half. Sophomore Olivia Larsen led the team with 21 points, 8 rebounds, 5 assists and 7 steals.? Freshman Megan Morenz followed closely with a solid 18 points and three steals herself. The Beavers finished the game shooting an impressive 50 percent from the field despite 0-of-11 from downtown.
ABOUT BUENA VISTA
BVU will play its first contest of the Conference tournament against the two seed Kohawks.Throughout the entirety of the regular season, the team is averaging 62.9ppg and shooting just shy of 40 percent from the field overall while converting an average of 4.4 three-point treys per night. Opponents are shooting nearly 50 percent from the field but the Beavers have been able to hold them to just above 30 percent from distance and are being outrebounded by only an average of three per game. Sophomore transfer Olivia Larsen has scored in double figures each game, including a 24-point performance in the season opener against Central. She's also turning in 6.5 rebounds, 3.0 assists and 4.0 steals per contest. Freshman Megan Morenz is averaging right at 10.0ppg and grabbing 5.5 rebounds. Sophomore Vanessa Hamlett has matched Larsen on the glass with 6.5 per game.
ABOUT THE KOHAWKS
Coe is playing its first conference tournament game and its eleventh game overall on Tuesday after winning a conference contest vs. Central on March 1. Senior Jackie Feldt led the Kohawks will 28 points. She was followed by Jamie Feldt with 15. The Kohawks shot 40 percent shooting overall and made just 9-of-27 long range attempts and the team won the rebounding battle at 51-32 and forced 13 turnovers to their 16 turnovers. Coe is averaging just under 67.0 points per night and ranks second in the league in scoring defense at 59.0ppg.
